Step One – Forward Thinking
Painting kitchen elements takes time and patience. You’re not going to finish it in a day. If the fronts of the elements are flat, the project will be easier. If they have bumps, it will take longer. Use one door as a sample and consult the paint seller. Kitchen elements need a lot of quality paint.
Step Two – Select the Colour
Do you want to go bright or dark? Light or muffled? Any details like stripes, patterns or moulds? Bright colours may be trendy, but does it fits your criteria? Avoid buying the cheapest paints. The kitchen elements are used a lot. You don’t want your paint to peel.
Step Three – Prepare the Surface
Wipe the interior of the elements, doors and drawers. Kitchens are a work area. There’s a lot of dirt and grease. The paint won’t adhere to dirty parts, so make sure everything’s clean. Find a good fat removal tool. Use gloves to protect your skin. Before you get on with work, wait till everything dries out.
Step Four – Blasting

Step Five – Primary Colour
The primary colour should be top quality and tailored to the material of your elements (wood, metal, laminate). If you’re going to paint over a dark or flexible surface, keep your primary colour the same as the finishing colour. Use the crepe bar to protect the borders. Rollerblades are better for flat surfaces, and brushes for corners.
Step Six – Paint
Finally, it’s time to paint! Apply a thin layer of paint and immediately clean the stains. Then wait for the paint to dry. This painting and drying can take several days. Repaint until you reach the desired effect.
When everything is completely dry, you’re ready to put your new kitchen in its place. Resist the challenge of doing this too early!
